Overview
Whiteroom Wedding is the atelier of Lucja Stenzel in Bornheim, near Cologne. She makes custom bridal dresses and occasion wear by hand. It is a studio where every bride is supported through the whole process, from the first meeting and first sketch to the final stitch.
We created the atelier's first professional website. The website should feel like the atelier itself, warm, personal, calm, and fast to use, so brides can experience the care and attention before they visit.

What the website needed to do
Whiteroom is the work of one designer, so the website needed to feel personal and handmade, not like a standard wedding website. A few important goals guided the project.
Feel like the atelier
Warm and elegant, written in Lucja's own voice and speaking directly to each bride.Show the work clearly
Present the collections, occasion wear, and Lucja's story in a thoughtful way instead of using a simple image gallery.Start a conversation
Give visitors one easy and welcoming way to get in touch through an enquiry form.Fast, reliable, easy to manage
Quick to use on any device and simple to maintain.
Above all, the website should help brides feel the atmosphere of the atelier before they visit.
A website made around the atelier
We created the website from scratch as a completely new project. It was designed to be fast, reliable, and easy to use on any device. Pages load quickly, navigation feels smooth, and the website requires very little ongoing maintenance.
More important than the technology is the experience it creates. The goal was to make visitors feel the warmth and care of the atelier from the moment they arrive.
Creating the feeling of the atelier
The warm atmosphere of the atelier needed to appear on every page, not only through colours and images. We made a small set of design choices and used them across the whole website.
- 01
Typography with personality
**Playfair Display **is used for headings and decorative text, while Inter keeps the main content clear and easy to read.
- 02
A soft colour palette
Warm paper colours, light blush backgrounds, a gentle taupe-rose accent, and soft dark text create a calm and welcoming look.
- 03
Handmade details
Arched frames, floral decorations, torn-paper edges, and ribbon dividers add character and appear throughout the website.
These design choices create a consistent feeling across the website while allowing each page to have its own character. The occasion-wear page feels like a collection of pressed flowers, while the about page feels more like a personal journal.

Presenting the collections with care
The dresses are the heart of the atelier, so the photography is given plenty of space. Images are shown inside carefully designed frames with captions instead of a simple grid. This gives each piece the attention it deserves and reflects how the garments are presented in the atelier.

A simple way to get in touch
The contact page is designed to look like a wedding invitation. It focuses on trust and ease of use. Information is checked while visitors fill out the form and again when they submit it, helping enquiries arrive successfully in the atelier's inbox.

Made for the phone
Most brides discover the atelier on their phones, so the website was designed for small screens first and then adapted for larger devices.
Built in from the start
- Mobile-first — every page uses a clear single-column layout with no horizontal scrolling
- Gentle motion — animations are reduced for visitors who prefer less movement
- Accessible — proper headings and alt text help screen readers and search engines understand the content
